CHESCOE (Past Teacher) Sarah Zel

West Australian Designer, Artist & Visual Arts Educator, Sarah Zel Chescoe, has an extensive background in Art & Design with a Visual Arts Degree with Honours from Curtin University of Technology. She has been an influential leader in Visual Arts Education and was Director of Visual Arts at PLC from 2002 - 2013. Sarah works across diverse studio areas & has a passion for Sculpture, Textiles, Photography, Public & Community Artworks. In 2017 she created the life size ‘Milky White’ Cow Puppet for the PLC Production ‘Into the Woods’. Her passion for Wearable Art is evident in her self-labelled Collection of exclusive, artisan-made Silver Jewellery, Leather & Homewares, which is also inspired by her travels & influenced by her interest in ancient, exotic & tribal cultures.

Awards:  Pat Duffy Medal for Excellence in Art Education 1998; Second Overall Design Winner - New Zealand Wearable Arts Awards 1997; 1996 Finalist: Fantasy Section – SDA Gown of the Year
